All irregularities and microhairs must be removed from the base for cold snow patterns. Our experience is that the grinding process has improved in the last few years, and using Fibertex (T264 or T264N) is less necessary than before. But we still recommend making some strokes with Fibertex for cold and dry conditions to ensure you remove all microhairs. Polish some times forth and back on the base before following the steps below.
