Even Northug: Carrying the family legacy to Trondheim

Growing up in Meråker with his brothers Petter and Tomas, skiing wasn’t just a sport but a way of life. ‘Maybe it’s something in the water,’ Even jokes, hinting at the legacy of the Northug family.

A lifelong passion for skiing

Even’s journey began as early as he can remember. “I learned to ski the same time I learned to walk,” he recalls.

The youngest Northug sibling, he watched his brothers excel on the biggest stages, drawing inspiration from their successes.

A milestone moment on home soil

Now, 10 years after his World Cup debut, Even is set to compete in the World Championship in his hometown, at Granåsen in Trondheim. “It’s the biggest moment of my career,” he says, reflecting on the opportunity to represent Norway on home soil in front of family, friends, and fans.

Even Northug’s story is one of dedication, family legacy, and the drive to make his mark in skiing history. As he prepares for the 2025 World Championships, all eyes will be on Trondheim, where Even hopes to achieve something truly special.
