  • Apply an even layer of powder along the glide zone.
  • Heat the iron to the recommended temperature, which is printed on the label. Melt the powder in long, smooth strokes—one side of the groove at a time. Allow the base to cool completely.
  • Scrape off the wax. Start with the pencil groove scraper, then use a sharp Swix plexi scraper.
  • Use a roto fleece to activate and maximize the performance of thepowder. Apply gentle pressure and work back and forth along the ski to even out any irregularities on the base. We recommend having a dedicated roto fleece for black powders.
  • Brush off any residue. Begin with a steel brush—make sure it rotates in the ski'sgliding direction. You can also use a hand brush, brushing from tip to tail.
  • Switch to a natural fiber brush. In the video, we use the setup of two 70 mm brushes on a 140 mmroto handle.
  • Finish with a nylon brush and polish the base to perfection.
