STRUCTURE

Stone-ground skis: Medium structure.

Swix rill tool: 1 mm straight roller with medium pressure on the rear section of the ski.

GLIDE – Option 1 (Racing)

Swix DHFF White Marathon is ironed in with a waxing iron. Let cool, scrape and brush with steel or brass (T179 / T162).

Then apply Swix PF100 WC powder. Iron in with a waxing iron at 160ºC. Let cool, scrape and brush with steel or brass (T179 / T162).

Finish by polishing the base with a Swix T160 blue polishing brush.

GLIDE – Option 2 (Touring)

Spray on Swix HS8L Liquid. It may be helpful to use a T21 felt cork for application. Spray onto the felt and wipe over the ski, then let it dry indoors.

Once the product has dried it can be brushed with a blue or red nylon brush (T160 / T190).

We recommend having a hard glide wax as a base layer, for example Swix HS06.

GRIP – For today’s mountain conditions

Roughen the grip zone well using sandpaper #100 (Swix T330 or T0011).

Iron in a thin layer of Swix KX20 Green klister and let it cool. Alternatively apply one layer of KB20 Green spray klister.

Then apply a thin layer of KX35N Blue Extra klister and let it cool.

Cover the klister with 2–3 thin layers of VP50 Violet. Both wax and skis should be cold during application.

VP65 is also a good option in the mountains today and can be applied directly on the base layer.

For those training in the lower parts of the course we recommend KN44 Nero klister as the top layer.

SKIN SKIS

If you are skiing on skin skis we recommend applying N21 Swix Skin Boost to improve glide and grip performance.

If you have well-used skin skis with dirty skins we recommend cleaning the skins thoroughly with Swix N22 and then impregnating them with N20 Swix Skin Impregnation.
