Swix World Cup: The Technology Behind It

Swix World Cup: The Technology Behind It

Swix World Cup Wax is the result of years of development and testing at the very highest level. The series has already proven itself during the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim – and now sets a new standard for speed and reliability.

The Story Behind the Development

For many years, we at Swix have worked on developing the World Cup series. Together with national teams, service crews, research institutions, and our own specialists, thousands of blends were tested in different snow conditions around the world. Each week, through multiple seasons, prototypes were tried, rejected, or refined.

The goal was clear: to create the fastest ski wax on the market.

The Technology – Explained Simply

Each product in the series is built around a specific technology, developed to reduce friction on different types of snow:

  • Crystal Shield forms a hard, smooth surface that protects against sharp crystals in fine-grained new snow.
  • Nano Contact creates nanostructures that minimize the contact area on coarse and artificial snow.
  • Lotus makes the surface hydrophobic, repelling water – ideal for moist conditions.
  • AmphiGlide uses the snow’s natural moisture as a lubricant while repelling dirt.
  • Black additives such as molybdenum provide extra durability, antistatic properties, and protection under extreme conditions.

The technology is advanced, but the effect is simple: less friction and more speed.

Proven at the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim

When the world’s best skiers lined up in Trondheim, World Cup products were used by several national teams. Medals, top results, and direct feedback from service crews confirmed what we had worked toward: the technology delivers when it matters most.

Who are the Products For?

The World Cup series is developed for the world’s elite, but available for everyone who wants faster skis:

  • National team skiers and professional wax technicians chasing tenths of a second.
  • Ambitious recreational skiers who want the same glide as the World Cup pros.
  • Talented young athletes who want to experience racing-level preparation from the start.

With a clear system based on snow type, humidity, and temperature, the series makes it easier to choose the right wax every time.

The New Era of Speed

The World Cup series is about more than technology. It’s about passion for skiing – and about giving every skier the feeling of flow, precision, and speed.

After years of research, testing, and refinement, we’re ready to open the next chapter in ski history.

This is The New Era of Speed.
