Wax tip for the Vasaloppet track and Tjejvasan 22.2.25

These recommendations are based on weather forecasts, testing, and our experience.

Expected Temperatures (SMHI)

  • Sälen, kl. 09.00: +2°C
  • Evertsberg, kl. 11.00: +3°C
  • Mora, kl. 12.00: +5°C
  • Hökberg, kl. 10.00: +4°C
  • Eldris, kl. 10.00: +5°C
  • Mora, kl. 11.00: +5°C

Cloudy weather and fog may occur.

Structure recommendation

Stone-Ground Skis: Use a medium structure. Apply additional hand structure for better glide.
Swix Structure Tool: Use a 1.0 mm linear structure with light pressure (T423).

Glide waxing - Racing performance

Choose this method if you want a racing result. Recommended for everyone competing.

1. Iron a layer of HS6 in the base. Scrape and brush off.

2. Iron in one layer of DHP-4 Fluor free marathon powder at 155°C. Let cool, then iron in another layer. Let cool completely. Scrape with a plexis craper and brush with a Swix Bronze or Steel Brush.

3. Finish with the SWIX Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

Glide waxing - Easy-application performance

You can use this method if you want to wax the easy way. Recommended for touring and training.

1. Spray on HS8L Liquid and let dry for at least 15 minutes. Apply at temperatures above 10°C. Ensure the wax film is completely dry for bthe est performance.
2. Finish with the Swix Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

Grip wax

1. Rub the kick zone with sand paper.

2. Apply KX20 green base klister or spray KB20 in the base
2. Apply a thin layer of KN44 Nero klister

Skin Skis

For integrated skin skis, clean the skins with N22 Skin Cleaner and apply N21 Skin Boost to improve glide properties.
