  • Apply an even layer of powder along the glide zone.
  • Heat the iron to the recommended temperature, which is printed on the label. Melt the powder by pulling the iron in long, steady motions—preferably one side of the groove at a time. Let the glide wax cool completely.
  • Scrape off the wax. Start with the pencil groove scraper, then use a sharp Swix plexi scraper for the rest of the base.
  • Brush off any residue. Begin with a steel brush—make sure it rotates in the ski's gliding direction. You can also use a hand brush, brushing from tip to tail.
  • Switch to a natural fiber brush. In the video, we use the setup of two 70 mm brushes on a 140 mm roto handle.
  • Finish with a nylon brush to polish the base for that perfect, race-ready surface.
